Safety Town

Safety Town is a nationally recognized program for youth to teach them how to be safe and what to do in an emergency.  Programs are 1 1/2 hours in length.  Any youth between the ages of 5-8 is eligible,  there is no residency requirement.

Call to schedule a "Safety Town" event at your organization

You provide the location and the participants, we provide everything else

There is no cost to participants

The St. Clair County Youth Readiness Council is looking for adult partners to act as Safety Town Instructors.  These instructors will be asked to “teach” one or more 15 minute subject(s) to 1st Graders at a local Safety Town Location.  Subjects include: Home Safety, Law Enforcement Safety, Fire Safety, Pedestrian / Bike Safety, and School Bus Safety.  In addition Adults will be asked to assist with the actual Safety Town course where kids will experience pedestrian and bike safety on the streets of Safety Town.

Time commitment will be one Saturday Morning / Afternoon for approximately 4 hours.

Instructors will be required to submit to a background check as they will be instructing 1st graders.  Potential instructors are asked to call (810) 989-6965 and ask for Russ or Pam.
